| PRINTING RECOMMENDATIONS: Gotex's 4 color process inks print well through screen meshes in the range of 83-200 (33-79cm). Direct emulsions, Capillary films or indirect stencil films are all suitable for screen preparation. Taut screens (20 newtons or higher) are highly recommended. If using lower tension screens adjust off contact accordingly. Use just enough squeegee pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt. This will enhance the opacity and also ensure a better cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric. Squeegee durometers of 60 or 70 and, depending on preference, round edge or sharp.
CURING: Recommended cure temperature is 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) for 60-90 seconds, depending on curing unit and thickness of ink deposit. The ink film must be heated throughout to properly cure. When properly cured the ink is 100% washable. Low wash temperatures and cool dryer settings are recommended. Do not iron or dry clean.
SUBSTRATES: Gotex's 4 color process inks may be printed on 100% cotton, cotton blends, acrylics and polyesters or poly/cotton blends. Pre-production run testing is is always recommended to check for adhesion, washability, dye migration problems, etc.
MODIFIERS: Gotex's 4 color process inks are ready to use. They can be extended using LFP-1010 soft hand extender base up to 100% without diminishing the strength or adhesion of the ink. Opacity will be affected. DT-01 detackifier will reduce viscosity while maintaining opacity.
CLEAN UP: Gotex's 4 color process inks contain no leaded pigments and when properly disposed of have no enviornmental impact. Use Franmar's Green-E-Way for ink removal from screens.
